We have 5 machines running the RRD LCD smart controller all running Marlin firmware.
On many occasions the LCD screen display becomes garbled and unreadable.

This makes the LCD screen unusable.

What is the cause and the solution to this issue?

    thank you,

Are you sure cables are firmly pushed in all the way?
are the cables in the correct plug? try both, you won't harm anything

Yes install is good, but i think we resolved the issue so i'll report it here so others may benefit from what we found.

In our R&D lab we have 3 machines in 3 office type cubicles. All running to separate outlets.
We noticed the random screen garbling happening on our first build and when we moved it to the next cube over it went away.
We built the next machine where machine 1 was and machine 2 started to develop the same issues.

So... machine 2 was moved out and machine 3 was built there. guess what? it started to happen again. While the once problematic screens on machines 1&2 started functioning properly.

have you figured it out yet?

The power strip/surge protector was the only item we never changed. I came across this totally by accident because i had to use it for something else and plugged the machine directly into the wall outlet.

    no more crazy screen!

ill keep it shorter next time;)
